Baseball Game Preview: Floresville Tigers/Jaguars vs. Cuero Gobblers

For the second straight game, Floresville will face off against Cuero. The Tigers/Jaguars will challenge the Gobblers at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Floresville's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so Cuero's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Floresville is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They came out on top against Cuero by a score of 6-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tigers/Jaguars.

Jaden Moreno was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out 17 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Floresville let Austin Beyer and Bryan Cardenas run wild. Beyer got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs and one triple, while Cardenas went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That's the most runs Beyer has posted since back in April of 2024. Coy Mainz was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Floresville's win bumped their record up to 19-10. As for Cuero, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-12.
