Baseball Game Preview: Philip Simmons Iron Horses vs. Hilton Head Island Seahawks

For the second straight game, Philip Simmons will face off against Hilton Head Island. The Iron Horses will welcome the Seahawks at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Philip Simmons is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.

On Monday, Philip Simmons needed a bit of extra time to put away Hilton Head Island. They had just enough and edged out the Seahawks 7-5. The victory was some much needed relief for the Iron Horses as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

For Hilton Head Island's part, they got a good showing from Connor Wiendl, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the fewest hits Wiendl has allowed since back in March.

On the hitting side, Hilton Head Island saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Slater Alsobrook, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double. Kyle Larson was another, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

The win got Philip Simmons back to even at 11-11. As for Hilton Head Island, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-14.
