Basketball Recap: Allen East Victorious

Allen East won the last time they faced Hardin Northern and things went their way on Saturday too. The Allen East Mustangs escaped with a win against the Hardin Northern Polar Bears by the margin of a single free throw, 36-35.

Hardin Northern lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Xander Wilson, who posted 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Stewart, who earned five points and six rebounds.

Allen East's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-8. As for Hardin Northern, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.

Allen East will take on Lincolnview at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Hardin Northern, they will square off against Mohawk at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Mohawk has five straight victories, Hardin Northern has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
