On Tuesday Whitman's undefeated season almost came to an end. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Naples Big Green Machines 5-3. The five-run effort marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.
Whitman's victory bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Naples, they dropped their record down to 6-8 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.
