Softball Recap: Kenosha Tremper Makes It Four in a Row at Home

Kenosha Tremper came out on top against Racine Horlick on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run fifth inning. The Trojans put the hurt on the Rebels with a sharp 12-1 win. The victory continues a trend for the Trojans in their matchups with the Rebels: they've now won nine in a row.

Hannah Holmes tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

At the plate, Vivian Meier was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Camille Sporer, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.

Kenosha Tremper always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .606. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Kenosha Tremper's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-7. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 8.2 runs. As for Racine Horlick, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kenosha Tremper will head out to square off against South Milwaukee at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Trojans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rockets have averaged an impressive 13.3 runs per game this season. As for Racine Horlick, they will head out on the road to face off against Franklin at 4:30 p.m. on the 22nd.
