Volleyball Recap: Freedom's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Monday

It was a good run, but Freedom unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-match winning streak on Monday. They lost 3-0 to the Bethlehem Catholic Hawks. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Patriots have suffered since October 9, 2024.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Bethlehem Catholic scored at least 17 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-20, 25-17.

Landry Guman paced Freedom's offense, picking up 12 kills. Guman got some help from Sara Kokolus and her 27 assists. Anzlea Frailey controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Freedom's loss dropped their record down to 20-7-2. As for Bethlehem Catholic, their win was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 18-0.

Freedom and Bethlehem Catholic should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings. The Patriots will square off against Liberty at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank advantage (40 vs. 131). Meanwhile, Bethlehem Catholic (ranked third) will meet Northampton (ranked 263rd) at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
