Laney has gone 8-2 against North Brunswick recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Laney Buccaneers will venture away from home to face off against the North Brunswick Scorpions at 7:30 p.m. Laney will be strutting in after a victory while North Brunswick will be coming in after a defeat.

Last Tuesday, Laney didn't have too much trouble with West Brunswick as they won 67-51. Given the Buccaneers' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 95th, while the Trojans are ranked 213th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, North Brunswick unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 58-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hoggard. The match marked the Scorpions' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Laney will have to contain Kane Jenrette as he made an impact in North Brunswick's last game. He dropped a double-double on 12 points and 14 rebounds. Jenrette is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games he's played. Jack Baker was another key player, putting up nine points and six boards.

Even though they lost, North Brunswick smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hoggard only pulled down seven offensive rebounds.

The win made it two in a row for Laney and bumps their season record up to 10-5. As for North Brunswick, their loss dropped their record down to 7-9.

Laney barely slipped by North Brunswick in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, winning 46-45. Does Laney have another victory up their sleeve, or will North Brunswick turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
