Basketball Recap: Lexington School for the Deaf Blue Jays vs. Winston Prep

The Lexington School for the Deaf Blue Jays entered their tilt with Winston Prep with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Lexington School for the Deaf came out on top against the by a score of 54-41 on Wednesday. For Lexington School for the Deaf, this counts as revenge for the 61-35 defeat the walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2023.

Lexington School for the Deaf's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cristhian De La Cruz, who scored 19 points along with four steals. De La Cruz is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last four games he's played. Hunter Larsen was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Lexington School for the Deaf's victory bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Winston Prep, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Lexington School for the Deaf will head out on the road to face off against the at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Winston Prep will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on the Blue Jays on February 26th.
