Basketball Recap: Marsing Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Marsing was handed a 30-point loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 41-39 win over the Fruitland Grizzlies. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Huskies as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Marsing's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lily Thoene led the charge by putting up nine points and six boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Raylynn Vanosdall, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten boards.

The win got Marsing back to even at 5-5. As for Fruitland, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Marsing will host Wendell at 3:00 p.m. on December 21st. Fruitland will take on Varsity Opponent in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
