Football Game Preview: Albany Lions vs. Hamlin Pied Pipers + How To Watch

The Albany Lions will head out on the road to face off against the Hamlin Pied Pipers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Albany comes in on four and Hamlin on eight.

Hamlin's offense is going to have their work cut out for them on Friday: Albany hadn't allowed a single point the last four times they've hit the field. The Lions blew past Roscoe 34-0 on Friday. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Lions had established a 28-point advantage.

A big part of Albany's win came down to the chemistry between Clay Chapman and his top target Huffman Heatly. Chapman threw for 208 yards and three touchdowns while Heatly picked up 109 receiving yards and three TDs. Those three receiving touchdowns gave Heatly a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Hamlin made easy work of Cross Plains on Friday and carried off a 43-18 victory. The Pied Pipers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by 25 points or more this season.

Hamlin's win came from a few key players Albany will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Luke White, who rushed for 151 yards and one score on only six carries, and also picked up 59 receiving yards. Isaiah Hutchings was another key player, rushing for 77 yards and a pair of TDs.

Hamlin was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 242 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cross Plains only rushed for 72.

Albany's record is now 7-2. As for Hamlin, their record now sits at 8-1.

Everything came up roses for Albany against Hamlin in their previous meeting back in October of 2023, as the team secured a 71-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lions since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
