Basketball Recap: Washington Beats Crestview for Their Seventh Straight Win

Washington had won six straight games and Delaney Pierce did her part to make it seven on Friday. The Washington Tigers wrapped up 2024 with a 63-44 win over the Crestview Rebels thanks in part to Pierce, who shot 4-for-7 from deep and dropped a triple-double on 27 points, ten boards, and ten steals. The match was her fifth in a row with at least ten points.

Hannah Nicola was another key player, putting up ten points along with seven assists and three steals. Those seven assists gave her a new career-high.

Addison Rhodes and Luvrain Gaskins certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Rhodes dropped a double-double on 20 points and 17 boards, while Gaskins dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 boards. Crestview is undefeated when Gaskins posts eight or more rebounds, but 2-3 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Bri DiCross, who posted no points and five steals.

Washington's record is now 9-1. As for Crestview, their record now sits at 6-3.

Washington didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 58-23 victory against Ursuline on the 28th. As for Crestview, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 49-36 win against Salem on the 28th.
