Softball Game Preview: Edgewater Eagles vs. Dr. Phillips Panthers

Edgewater hasn't had much luck against Dr. Phillips recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Eagles will face off against the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. Edgewater has given up an average of 17.9 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Edgewater fell victim to Legacy Charter and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 20-0 to Legacy Charter. That's two games in a row now that Edgewater has lost by exactly 20 runs.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Dr. Phillips challenged Winter Park on Tuesday. The Panthers came up short against the Wildcats, falling 17-1. Having soared to a lofty 19 runs in the game before, the Panthers couldn't push the score so high this time.

Dr. Phillips saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Briana Lohr, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run.

Dr. Phillips' loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Edgewater, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-9.

Edgewater suffered a grim 19-1 defeat to Dr. Phillips when the teams last played on Wednesday. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
