Recap: East Knox Bulldogs vs. Mansfield Christian Flames
This season hasn't been kind to the East Knox Bulldogs, who are still winless after their seventh matchup. They took a serious blow against Mansfield Christian on Thursday, falling 75-39. While losing is never fun, East Knox can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 846th, while Mansfield Christian is ranked 330th).
Leading Mansfield Christian to victory were Amarr Davis and Dre Martin. Davis scored 27 points along with seven rebounds and five steals, while Martin scored 19 points along with nine rebounds and six steals. The match was Davis' seventh in a row with at least ten points. Davion Mack was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with five rebounds.
East Knox's loss was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-7. As for Mansfield Christian, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 6-1.
East Knox will be playing in front of their home fans against Ridgedale at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Mansfield Christian will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Northmor at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
