Volleyball Game Preview: North Allegheny Tigers vs. Gilmour Academy Lancers

The North Allegheny Tigers will head out on the road to challenge the Gilmour Academy Lancers at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Thursday, North Allegheny beat North Hills 3-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tigers.

In the three sets North Allegheny was on fire: they won each by at least 11 points. The final score came out to 25-13, 22-25, 25-14, 26-15.

St. Joseph Academy came into Wednesday's contest looking for another win against Gilmour Academy, but Avery Martin wouldn't allow it. The Lancers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Jaguars on Wednesday with plenty of help from Martin, who had 17 digs and two assists. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last six games she's played.

Gilmour Academy wouldn't go down easily and took St. Joseph Academy into a fifth set where they got it done with a three-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-27, 25-17, 14-25, 25-15, 15-12.

North Allegheny's record is now 7-3-2. As for Gilmour Academy, they now have a winning record of 9-8.
