Volleyball Recap: Paul VI's Win on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Paul VI hadn't done well against St. John recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Panthers blew past the Cadets 3-0. The win was nothing new for the Panthers as they're now sitting on three straight.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-17, 25-21.

Coco Lewis paced Paul VI's offense, picking up 13 kills. Lewis got some help from Maris Francescon and her 17 assists. Francescon also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Clara Hays, each putting up three.

Paul VI's victory bumped their record up to 18-3. As for St. John's, their defeat ended a four-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Paul VI will welcome The Academy of the Holy Cross at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for St. John's, they will be playing at home against St. Mary's Ryken at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
