Volleyball Game Preview: Fergus Golden Eagles vs. Custer County Cowboys

After both having extra time off, the Fergus Golden Eagles and the Custer County Cowboys will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Fergus will be strutting in after a victory while Custer County will be coming in after a defeat.

It was a Battle of the Birds when Fergus faced off against Sidney on Saturday. The Golden Eagles came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 3-1. The Golden Eagles haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Custer County faced Havre in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Cowboys fell just short of the Blue Ponies by a score of 3-2. The Cowboys haven't had much luck with the Blue Ponies recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Custer County sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 23-25, 27-25, 20-25, 15-12.

Fergus' victory bumped their record up to 10-8. As for Custer County, their loss dropped their record down to 14-11.

Fergus beat Custer County 3-1 when the teams last played back in September. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Golden Eagles since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
