The Spruce Creek Hawks will face off against the University Titans at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Spruce Creek's pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so University's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Spruce Creek is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They came out on top against West Port by a score of 10-6. The high-scoring effort was just what the Hawks needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

Spruce Creek got a great performance from Aubrey Yeary as she struck out 11 batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits (and only one walk). Yeary has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Alexis Minaberry was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Gabi Pardo also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Spruce Creek was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as West Port only posted a batting average of .267.
The home team had won the previous four meetings between University and DeLand, and University kept the tradition alive. The Titans were the clear victors by an 8-1 margin over the Bulldogs on Monday. Considering the Titans have won nine matches by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
The team relied heavily on Addison Pertler, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Bella Delgado, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Spruce Creek has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 15 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for University, their win was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-7.
Wednesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Spruce Creek hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .314. However, it's not like University struggles in that department as they've averaged .337. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Spruce Creek came out on top in a nail-biter against University when the teams last played back in March, sneaking past 6-4. Will the Hawks repeat their success, or do the Titans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
