Baseball Game Preview: Clearwater Central Catholic Marauders vs. Mitchell Mustangs

The Clearwater Central Catholic Marauders will take on the Mitchell Mustangs in a tournament on Wednesday. Neither Clearwater Central Catholic nor Mitchell posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Clearwater Central Catholic is coming home looking for redemption after taking a loss in their road opener. They fell just short of Countryside by a score of 1-0 on Monday.

Meanwhile, Mitchell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Palm Harbor University.

Micah Mark was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out seven batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off three hits.

At the plate, Mitchell saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaiden Roxby, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Clearwater Central Catholic skirted past Mitchell 10-9 in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Do the Marauders have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mustangs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
