Football Game Preview: Lytle Pirates vs. Poteet Aggies

Lytle is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Friday. After each having a week off, they and the Poteet Aggies will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:00 p.m. Poteet took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Lytle, who comes in off a win.

Last Friday, Lytle didn't have too much trouble with Pearsall as they won 28-14. That 14 point margin sets a new team best for the Pirates this season.

Weston Jackson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 137 yards and two TDs, while also rushing for 57 yards and one touchdown.

Meanwhile, Poteet scored the most points they've had this season last Friday, but it wasn't enough. They had to suffer through a 50-20 loss at the hands of Marion. The Aggies were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-13.

Lytle now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Poteet, their loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-4.

Lytle barely slipped by Poteet in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, winning 19-18. Will the Pirates repeat their success, or do the Aggies have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
