Recap: Seton Catholic Central Saints vs. Binghamton Patriots

The Seton Catholic Central Saints waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with seven straight wins but they left with eight. They walked away with a 57-45 victory over Binghamton. Given Seton Catholic Central's advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 46th, while Binghamton is ranked 155th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Seton Catholic Central got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Allan Eagles out in front who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Eagles is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Drew Erickson, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds.

Seton Catholic Central pushed their record up to 12-2 with that victory, which was their seventh straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.4 points per game. As for Binghamton, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Seton Catholic Central will face off against Chenango Forks at 1:45 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Chenango Forks focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 last Wednesday. Binghamton won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Maine-Endwell at 6:45 p.m. on January 26th. Maine-Endwell and Binghamton are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
