Basketball Recap: Eagle Valley Comes Up Short

Eagle Valley lost against Palisade back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Eagle Valley Devils received a blow as they fell 43-25 to the Palisade Bulldogs. The Devils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Eagle Valley still got an impressive performance from Zakia Shreeve, who posted four points and four steals. Shreeve has been hot recently, having posted four or more steals the last four times she's played.

Palisade's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Lyla Lancaster, who put up nine points along with eight boards and three steals. That's the most boards Lancaster has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Delaney Wright, who had eight points and 11 rebounds.

Eagle Valley's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Palisade, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-4.

Eagle Valley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 60-24 victory against Rifle on the 11th. As for Palisade, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 38-29 defeat against Montrose on the 14th.
