Soccer Recap: Taylorsville Comes Up Short

The home team had won the previous six meetings between Taylorsville and Cyprus, and Cyprus kept the tradition alive. While the 2-2 score might suggest a draw, it was the Pirates who were credited with the victory on Thursday. The Cyprus Pirates got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to the Taylorsville Warriors' three. Taylorsville were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Cyprus apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Carlos Carrasco and Elias Mendoza scored both of Taylorsville's goals, bringing their combined season tally to nine goals.

Taylorsville's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Cyprus, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-3.

Taylorsville and Cyprus will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matchups. The next time the Warriors see the pitch they'll take on Hunter at 5:30 p.m. on the 15th. As for Cyprus, their break will end when they face Granger at 5:30 p.m. on the 15th.
