Volleyball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Westmont

Westmont waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Oak Grove Eagles. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Warriors also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Westmont had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 26-24, 25-14, 25-23.

Despite the loss, Oak Grove still got an impressive performance from Gavin Rino, who had 18 digs and three aces. That's the most aces Rino has posted since back in February.

Westmont pushed their record up to 11-5 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. As for Oak Grove, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Westmont is set to challenge their familiar foe Silver Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Oak Grove will take on rival Prospect at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
