Slinger has gone a perfect 10-0 against Nicolet recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Owls are taking a road trip to square off against the Knights at 4:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Slinger has eight straight victories, Nicolet has 36 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

While Slinger's win against Pewaukee wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Owls skirted past the Pirates 7-5.

West Bend East hit Nicolet with a nine-run third inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Knights lost 17-1 to the Suns. That's two games in a row now that the Knights have lost by exactly 16 runs.

Savannah Jewell made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and one stolen base. She also put up a run, which was her first of the season.

Slinger's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-5. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Nicolet, their loss dropped their record down to 0-15.

Everything went Slinger's way against Nicolet in their previous matchup back in April, as Slinger made off with a 14-2 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Owls since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
