Baseball Recap: Thursday's Win Is Hooker's Sixth in Last Eight Outings

Hooker came out on top against Goodwell on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run seventh inning. The Bulldogs were the clear victors by a 10-1 margin over the Eagles. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won eight games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Hunter Ray made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out 16 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Those 16 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple was his first of the season.

In other batting news, Justin Palacios was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Tryston Hidalgo was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

Hooker is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.

Hooker will take on Guymon at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Goodwell does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
