Basketball Recap: Indianapolis Lutheran Saints vs. Perry Meridian Falcons
Indianapolis Lutheran was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 52-47 heartbreaker at the hands of the Perry Meridian Falcons. The Saints were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Falcons apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.
Indianapolis Lutheran's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cayden Loescher, who went 5-for-9 en route to 10 points and eight boards. Reece Koomler was another key player, putting up nine points.
Leading Perry Meridian to victory were Sterlin Lewis and Devante Rhodes. Lewis went 6-for-9 on his way to 16 points, while Rhodes went 6-for-9 to rack up 16 points. Those 16 points gave Rhodes a new career-high. Kayden Hobdy also deserves some recognition as he pulled down his first board of the season.
Indianapolis Lutheran's loss dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Perry Meridian, the victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 6-14.
