Basketball Recap: Seven Straight Home Wins for North Star

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but North Star had no problem doing just that on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 54-36 victory over the Everett Warriors. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

It was another big night for Andy Retassie, who posted 25 points in addition to five rebounds and five steals. That makes it seven consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of North Star's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Smith, who scored 13 points and six boards.

North Star pushed their record up to 19-5 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.3 points over those games. As for Everett, their loss dropped their record down to 13-9.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Cougars face off against the Lions at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Chestnut Ridge's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven games. Everett does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
