Basketball Recap: Slippery Rock Comes Up Short

Slippery Rock was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 43-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hickory Hornets. The matchup marked the Rockets' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Slippery Rock's loss dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Hickory, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.

Looking ahead, Slippery Rock will be playing at home against Farrell at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Farrell knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully Slippery Rock likes a good challenge. As for Hickory, they will square off against Grove City at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
