New York High School Football Rankings

Who's up and who's down

There wasn't a ton of movement in the power rankings this week, but there was certainly enough to keep things interesting. We'll tackle all that (plus a new number one team) in this week's report.

Can't Touch This

Archbishop Stepinac's 49 - 7 win over St. Francis last week had a lot to do with the leadership of junior Joey Carino. Carino threw for 301 yards and four touchdowns. In fact, our algorithms singled out Carino as one of the top players in the power rankings for the week.

Game of Inches

Even if it wasn't quite the margin the team was expecting, Freeport's contest against William Floyd still finished up like the MaxPreps state rankings predicted. Freeport can thank its lucky stars for its win over William Floyd. The final score was a hard-fought 20 - 19. The outcome was a definite jolt of excitement for Freeport after its previous game, where the margin was anything but close. The razor-thin margin made this game the most thrilling one of the week.
