Basketball Recap: Brookland-Cayce Comes Up Short

Brookland-Cayce extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping them down to 2-4. They were beaten by the River Bluff Gators 67-20. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bearcats of the 67-29 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2024.

Brookland-Cayce's loss came despite strong showings from Kadin Enoch and Kamryn Etheredge. Enoch posted six points and five boards, while Etheredge had no points.

As for River Bluff, their win ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-2. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

River Bluff got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Chaelyn Tifre out in front who dropped a double-double with 18 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Campell Childers, who went 6-for-9 en route to 14 points.

Looking ahead, Brookland-Cayce will be playing in front of their home fans against Fort Dorchester at 6:30 p.m. on the 10th. As for River Bluff, they are taking a road trip to take on Lugoff-Elgin at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
