Basketball Recap: Waukee Comes Up Short

Waukee and Ankeny Centennial squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Waukee had to settle for second. They lost to the Ankeny Centennial Jaguars on the road by a 62-46 margin. The Warriors were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Jaguars earlier this season, when they won 57-53.

Waukee's defeat dropped their record down to 11-11. As for Ankeny Centennial, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-4.

Waukee and Ankeny Centennial should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Iowa Rankings. Waukee (ranked 31st) will meet Roosevelt (ranked 161st) at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Waukee will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. Meanwhile, Ankeny Centennial will take on Southeast Polk at 6:15 p.m. on Friday up 37 places (8 vs. 45).
