Soccer Game Preview: Burns vs. East Gaston

Burns hasn't had much luck against East Gaston recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Bulldogs will head out to challenge the Warriors at 6:00 p.m.

Burns is headed into Tuesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Thursday. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last game, East Gaston made sure to put some goals up on the board against Cherryville last Thursday. They never let the Ironmen get on the board and left with a 9-0 win. The result was nothing new for East Gaston, who have now won five contests by five goals or more so far this season.

Their offense was hitting Cherryville from everywhere, as seven different players booted in a goal. Payton Lenox led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

East Gaston is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-4-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 22 goals over those five games. As for Burns, their loss dropped their record down to 6-10-2.
