Basketball Game Preview: Skyline Spartans vs. Sammamish RedHawks + How To Watch

The Skyline Spartans will face off against the Sammamish RedHawks at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.

After dropping their season opener at home, Sammamish is headed out to face a Spartans squad ready to give their home crowd a win. Skyline took a hard 69-52 fall against Renton on Tuesday. The defeat was just more heartbreak for the Spartans, who fell 44-41 when the teams last met back in January.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Sammamish and Newport - Bellevue meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Tuesday. The RedHawks walked away with a 69-60 victory over the Knights.

Skyline better keep an eye on Rakin Showki. He was instrumental in Sammamish's win, dropping a double-double with 33 points and ten rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Showki has scored at least a third of the RedHawks' points. Isaias Valdes De Morales was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 13 points and nine boards.

Skyline and Sammamish were neck-and-neck when the teams last played back in January of 2023, but Skyline came up empty-handed after a 58-57 loss. Can the Spartans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
