Basketball Game Preview: Louisiana Bulldogs vs. Clopton Hawks

Louisiana hasn't had much luck against Clopton recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Louisiana Bulldogs will take on the Clopton Hawks at 5:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Louisiana will bounce into Tuesday's contest after beating North Callaway, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Louisiana came out on top against North Callaway by a score of 56-43 on Monday.

Meanwhile, Clopton came tearing into Monday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 39.5 points) and they left with even more momentum. They took their game with ease, bagging a 74-23 win over the Bobcats. Given the Hawks' advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 49th, while the Bobcats are ranked 367th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Clopton pushed their record up to 13-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.8 points per game. As for Louisiana, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season.

Louisiana might still be hurting after the 60-36 defeat they got from Clopton in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. Can Louisiana avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
