Volleyball Recap: Nucla Takes a Loss

Nucla lost against Dolores two weeks ago, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Mustangs came up short against the Bears, falling 3-0. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-15, 25-15.

Lantry Galley paced Nucla's offense, picking up seven kills. Galley were helped by Peyton Naslund and Sydney Tomlinson, who contributed five assists each. Finally, Galley was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high two blocks.

Leading Dolores to victory were Layla Mitchell and Jordyn Erautt. Mitchell had 14 digs and one assist, while Erautt had.

Nucla's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Dolores, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Nucla is set to challenge their familiar foe Mancos at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Dolores will square off against rival Telluride at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
