Somerset Academy never let their opponents score on Monday. They skirted past the Deerfield Beach Bucks 1-0. The one-run effort marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Liam DeCicco looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Somerset Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jon Mora, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Hector Sanchez also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Somerset Academy's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Deerfield Beach, their loss ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-3.

Somerset Academy wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Doral Academy on the 4th. As for Deerfield Beach, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 2-1 victory against Monarch on the 5th.
