Softball Recap: Holgate Comes Up Short

After flying high against Ottoville last Saturday, Holgate came back down to earth. The Tigers came up short against the Continental Pirates on Friday, falling 19-1. The defeat continues a trend for the Tigers in their meetings with the Pirates: they've now lost six in a row.

Holgate's loss dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Continental, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 16-4.

Holgate does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Continental, they will challenge Defiance at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Pirates' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season.
