Softball Recap: Oxford Comes Up Short

Thursday just wasn't the day for Oxford's offense. They came up short against the DeSoto Central Jaguars on Thursday, falling 10-0. The loss continues a trend for the Chargers in their meetings with the Jaguars: they've now lost seven in a row.

Oxford's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 9-9. As for DeSoto Central, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Oxford will challenge North Pontotoc at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for DeSoto Central, they will take on Tipton-Rosemark Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
