Clifton came tearing into Tuesday's match with seven straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Whitney Wildcats with a sharp 3-0 victory. That's more bragging rights for the Cubs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Clifton took every set by at least 11 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-9, 25-9.

Clifton found their leader in sophomore Scarlett Kennedy, who had 22 digs and eight aces.

Clifton's win bumped their record up to 29-6. As for Whitney, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-12.

Coincidentally, Clifton and Whitney will both be playing Troy the next time they take the court. The Cubs will host the Trojans at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Wildcats will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
