Basketball Recap: Newton Takes a Loss

Newton has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell 40-33 to the Bay Springs Bulldogs on Friday. The game marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Newton's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Bay Springs, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Newton will challenge Clarkdale at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bay Springs, they and Wayne County will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played.
