Basketball Recap: Austin Catholic Takes a Loss

After some red-hot attacks on offense in their last four matches, Austin Catholic finally came back down to earth on Wednesday. They took a blow against Detroit International Academy, falling 50-22. While losing is never fun, the Crusaders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 697th, while Detroit International Academy are ranked 154th).

Austin Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Detroit International Academy, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-4.

The future could be bright for both Austin Catholic and Detroit International Academy: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Austin Catholic will try to hand Roeper their eighth-straight defeat when the two meet at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Similarly, Detroit International Academy will look to extend Whitefish Township's four-game losing streak when the meet at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
