Softball Recap: Workman Extends Home Winning Streak to Five

Workman won the last time they faced La Puente and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Lobos blew past the Warriors 16-5. Considering the Lobos have won 11 matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

McKenna Weller was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up five earned runs off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Leana Sanchez, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two doubles. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged two or more in each of the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sydney Rivera, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Workman pushed their record up to 12-7 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 9.6 runs. As for La Puente, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-8.

As of now, neither Workman nor the Warriors have any future games scheduled.
