Basketball Game Preview: Sabino Sabercats vs. Yuma Catholic Shamrocks

The Sabino Sabercats will face off against the Yuma Catholic Shamrocks at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Sabino saw some tournament action on Saturday. They fell 48-38 to Alchesay.

Sabino's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Chayil Combs, who posted 17 points and three steals, and Jayda Haley, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds. That's the most boards Haley has posted since back in November of 2024.

Meanwhile, Yuma Catholic unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak back in December of 2024. They came up short against Valley Christian, falling 57-37. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Shamrocks have suffered against the Trojans since January 27, 2017.

Yuma Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Sabino, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-7 record this season.
