Recap: Jones Trojans vs. Lytle Pirates
The Jones Trojans's 21-10 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They suffered a tough 74-50 loss at the hands of Lytle on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Jones can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1189th, while Lytle is ranked 137th).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lytle to victory, but perhaps none more so than Chase Guevara, who scored 17 points along with 3 steals. Guevara is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Seth Pierce, who scored 15 points along with 7 rebounds.
Jones are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5. As for Lytle, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.
Jones will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Young Men's Leadership Academy at 10:30 a.m. on December 1st. Hopefully Young Men's Leadership Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Thursday. As for Lytle, they will take on Tournament Opponent at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. Tournament Opponent has now lost nine straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 25.
