Soccer Recap: Islands' Loss Ends Three-Game Winning Streak at Home

If Islands was riding high fresh off their 11-1 takedown of Groves last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Islands Sharks fell 2-0 to the St. Andrew's Lions on Friday. The Sharks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Islands' defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 3-6. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 22 goals over those three matches. As for St. Andrew's, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Looking ahead, Islands will be playing at home against Liberty County at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for St. Andrew's, they will square off against Hilton Head Prep at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
