Basketball Game Preview: Lincolnton Wolves vs. Salisbury Hornets

Two dominant guards in Josiah Guyton and Braylon Taylor are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. Having just played yesterday, the Lincolnton Wolves will get right back to it and host the Salisbury Hornets at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday. Lincolnton has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 217 points over their last three contests.

Lincolnton is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing East Gaston: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Wolves blew the Warriors out of the water with a 72-42 final score. The win continues a trend for the Wolves in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won four in a row.

Meanwhile, Salisbury came up short against Dudley on Saturday and fell 62-54. The matchup marked the Hornets' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Lincolnton will need to focus on slowing down Blake Smith, one of several Salisbury players who made an impact when they last played. He posted eight points in addition to ten rebounds and five blocks. Smith has been hot recently, having posted three or more blocks the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jon Ross, who had 11 points.

Lincolnton now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Salisbury, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-2.
