Football Recap: Christ the King's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Friday

Christ the King dropped down to 4-2 on Friday, ending the team's four-game streak of wins. They took a 28-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Community School of Davidson Spartans. The Crusaders were not able to make up for their loss to the Spartans from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

Despite the loss, Christ the King still got an impressive performance from Brennen Wallace, who rushed for 114 yards and a pair of scores. Wallace didn't just play on offense: he also made eight total tackles and defended one pass.

As for Community School of Davidson, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 31.5 points over those games.

Nixon Willis had a dynamite game, rushing for 152 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.2 yards per carry.

Coincidentally, Christ the King and Community School of Davidson will both be playing Lake Norman Charter the next time they take the field. The Spartans will head out to face the Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Crusaders will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on October 10.
