For the second straight game, Crismon will face off against Combs. Crismon will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Combs at 3:45 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Crismon has five straight wins, Combs has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Crismon's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They blew past Combs 25-0. The result was nothing new for the Rattlers, who have now won eight matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Kenny Wilsford was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, David Poldoian was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with seven RBI, three runs, and one triple. Those seven RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Herzberg, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles.
Crismon always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Combs only posted an OBP of .167.
Crismon's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-3. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 19.3 runs over those games. As for Combs, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7-1.
Combs' pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Crismon has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.5 hits per game. It's a different story for Combs, though, as they've been averaging 9.5 hits. Given Crismon's sizable advantage in that area, Combs will need to find a way to close that gap.
