Basketball Game Preview: Sherrard Tigers vs. Quad Cities Christian Eagles

The Sherrard Tigers will face off against the Quad Cities Christian Eagles at 9:30 a.m. on Monday. Sherrard is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games.

On Saturday, Sherrard was able to grind out a solid win over Dyett, taking the game 49-41.

Meanwhile, Quad Cities Christian suffered their biggest loss since January 13, 2024 on Saturday. They were dealt a 60-28 defeat at the hands of Alleman. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Eagles came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 218th, while the Pioneers are ranked 579th).

Sherrard will have to keep a close watch on Tanner Garant and Cobie Becker-Paradiso, a pair of players who had a big impact on Quad Cities Christian's prior game. Garant posted nine points in addition to eight boards and three steals, while Becker-Paradiso had eight points. Garant is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last nine games he's played.

Sherrard's victory bumped their record up to 17-2. As for Quad Cities Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 12-3.
