Ohio State landed its presumable leader for the future of the program on Sunday night.

Electric five-star quarterback Tate Martell announced his pledge to the Buckeyes on Twitter. He's arguably the top playmaker in America, leading preseason No. 3 Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas).

The 5-foot-11, 203-pound dynamo is the No. 1 rated dual-threat quarterback in the 2017 class according to the 247 Sports Composite. He was a MaxPreps junior all-American last season after passing for 2,537 yards and 40 touchdowns against just two interceptions. He also ran 98 times for 604 yards and nine scores.

Martell is a pure winner. He's a perfect 28-0 as the Gaels' starting quarterback the past two seasons with two consecutive state titles (he was a backup in two games his junior season). Martell has the No. 3 rated Gaels poised for a national title run yet again.
